Martial Arts for the Real World

Your training will consist of a mix of different martial arts styles.  The mixture helps ensure that you learn a more complete self-defense game.  A majority of your training will come from Kali, but you will see the biggest variety of arts in the unarmed disciplines.

Individualized Curriculum!  Training that is specialized for you!

Everyone has different life experience and backgrounds.  No one wants to spend weeks and weeks being lectured about something they already know. This is a very common occurrence in other systems.  In Strider Self Defense, that wasted time is eliminated. Before you start training with Strider Self Defense, you’ll get a personalized consultation with Guro Sean to assess your background, knowledge, and preferences so that your training can be tailored to you. At the end of every training session, you will collectively reflect on what was learned and any insights you gained from that day’s session. All this information will be kept on file to chart your progress and shape the direction of your self-defense journey.

All Programs Included!

You will be able to train every program at no additional cost.  Before your training starts, you will choose a program that you are interested in learning as your main focus. You will be exposed to the other programs as your training progresses.  Your chosen program is free to change at any time with input from your instructor.  If you are unsure on where to start, you can defer to your instructor.

You recognize that tempers have flared up too high during a disagreement and you no longer feel safe.  You decide to leave the situation but the hothead followed you into the elevator and shoved you into its walls.  You notice their fighting stance as you square off and realize you may have more than a sloppy haymaker coming your way.

Giving the mugger your wallet should have been enough to get you and your kids home safely, but there is still a knife to your throat and a hand gripping your lapel.  You realize that this stranger is thinking more violently than rationally.  Your hands go from raised and passive to trapping his hand with the knife against your body as you make your move.

Escapes Discipline.jpg

You find yourself alone in a parking garage when you hear footsteps approaching you from behind, too hurried and too loud to be normal.  You turn to find yourself face-to-face with an attacker armed with some sort of blunt object.  Your hand reflexively goes to the folding knife in your pocket and you spy a potential weapon in a piece of wood laying near the stairs. The attacker raises a lead pipe overhead and you get to work.
